The day
What the Revolut assessment centre actually looks like
Where it sits in the timeline: Candidate reports suggest the assessment centre (UK) or superday (US) serves as the final evaluation phase before an offer is extended, typically occurring after successful completion of online assessments, recruiter screens, and technical or problem-solving video interviews.
Duration
A full day, 5-7 hours. Multiple exercises back-to-back with short breaks. Fatigue is part of the test.
Cohort
Senior managers and partners. Each scores against the same scorecard.
Conversion
30-50% of attendees get offers. The firm only invites people they would seriously consider hiring, but performance on the day decides it.
The exercises
What each assessment centre round tests
Sector-specific breakdown. Each round has its own scorecard; consistency across all of them is what gets offers.
Competency interviews
STAR-format behavioural questions against the firm scorecard. One or two interviewers, multiple rounds.
Case study or presentation
A brief to read, a recommendation to build, a presentation to give. Tests structure and confidence.
Group exercise
Small-group problem-solving. Assessors watch contribution, leadership and respect for other voices.
Partner or senior interview
The deciding conversation. Tests judgement, motivation and culture fit.
The simulator
Rehearse the full assessment centre, end to end
Rehearse the assessment centre free on Intervyo. Multi-stage scenarios mirror the real day's exercises in order, case work, technicals, behavioural rounds, lunch.
- Full-day simulation. 4 back-to-back rounds in the order Revolut actually runs them.
- Per-round scoring. Each exercise scored independently, then aggregated to a verdict. Same way the real day works.
- Fatigue calibration. Rounds compound in difficulty. Practising the full sequence exposes the late-day drop-off most candidates miss.
- Detailed debrief. After the simulation, a written debrief covering what would have got you an offer, what would have lost it.
Why candidates fail
How candidates lose the Revolut assessment centre
Specific failure patterns drawn from past attendee accounts. The day is a marathon, not a sprint, and most failures are about consistency across panels.
- 1
Fading energy in the late rounds
Candidates often peak during morning interviews and struggle with mental fatigue during afternoon panels and partner interviews.
- 2
Dominating the group exercise
Speaking over peers and ignoring team contributions fails the collaboration evaluation, even if the candidate's ideas are correct.
- 3
Going silent in the group exercise
Remaining passive to avoid conflict results in assessors concluding the candidate lacks leadership presence and assertiveness.
- 4
Not preparing partner-level questions
Asking basic, easily searchable questions during the final round signals low genuine interest in the company's strategic trajectory.
- 5
Poor lunch behaviour
Lowering professional guards during informal lunch sessions can lead to negative feedback from shadowing staff.
- 6
Inconsistency across panels
Giving conflicting accounts of past experiences or shifting personas between technical and behavioral interviewers damages credibility.
- 7
Neglecting unit economics
Proposing solutions in case studies that ignore cost structures, margins, or acquisition expenses.
- 8
Defensiveness under critique
Arguing with interviewers during case pushback or Q&A rather than calmly debating trade-offs.
What works
What separates candidates who get offers
Concrete moves drilled by candidates who clear the day, drawn from accounts of recent offer-holders.
Three anchor stories drilled cold
Developing versatile, STAR-formatted examples that can be adapted to demonstrate ownership, resilience, and leadership across multiple competency prompts.
Specific Revolut references in every round
Citing recent product launches, regulatory milestones, or geographic expansions to prove genuine familiarity with the business.
Smart questions per interviewer
Tailoring questions to the specific role and background of each panelist, ranging from engineering scalability to regional growth hurdles.
Energy management across the day
Maintaining consistent posture, focus, and enthusiasm from the first registration desk check to the final partner interview.
Thank-you notes
Sending concise, professional follow-up notes via email to recruiters or interviewers within 24 hours.
How to handle the partner round
Approaching senior leaders with peer-level confidence, concise communication, and an appetite for discussing strategic trade-offs.
Structuring before speaking
Taking deliberate pauses to map out frameworks before answering complex case prompts.
Quantifying impact
Using hard numbers, percentages, and financial metrics in every behavioral story.
Active facilitation in groups
Guiding team discussions toward consensus while ensuring quieter members have space to contribute.
Calm composure under stress
Treating difficult interviewer pushback as an engaging collaborative brainstorming session.
Mastery of mental math
Practicing rapid percentage calculations, revenue breakdowns, and unit economics without relying on a calculator.
Clear time boxing
Monitoring pacing during written tests and case studies to ensure every section is completed.
On the day
Six moves that decide the offer
- 01Three anchor stories, drilled cold. Prepare three stories that demonstrate multiple competencies each. Reuse them across the day. You will hit the same scorecard line items from different angles.
- 02Reference Revolut in every round. Specific deals, named partners, division-level detail. The candidates who do this signal preparation in a way generic ones cannot fake.
- 03Treat lunch as assessed. It is. The senior staff at the table are scoring presence, small talk and substantive questions. Have two ready.
- 04Stay sharp in the late rounds. Most candidates fade after the third hour. The few who keep energy and structure into the partner round are the ones who get offers.
- 05Have two questions per interviewer. Specific to their role, not generic. Revolut interviewers compare notes; "what is the firm culture like" five times in a row gets noticed.
- 06Send a thank-you note. Short, specific, within 24 hours. Reference something each interviewer said. Most candidates skip this; the offer rate among those who do it is materially higher.
